Andre Akkari and Jen Shahade were the early casualties at the Shark Cage final table as Antonio Esfandiari built a massive stack. Eventually Ivey started picking Esfandiari off and finally sent him to the rail in fourth in massive coin flip. That paved the way for an extended three-way battle between Ho, Negreanu and Ivey. The Shark Cage is only in play when 2 players see the river card heads up. The Shark Cage is only in play when there are 4 or more players left in the heat or final. The Shark Cage is an interesting show which tried to introduce a novel idea to appeal to broader audience. The concept was relatively successful. The shark cage element is certainly entertaining, but it doesn’t have much to do with poker, really.
